Think you know all about Fruit Wines & Mead?
Well think again. The fruit wines & meads produced by the Hive Winery are a little different from what you might be expecting. Many fruit wines on the market are very sweet, often 14 to 18 percent residual sugar and meads are assumed by many to be extremely sweet. Here at the Hive Winery, we believe that both fruit wines and meads have have a place on your dinner table as well. As a result, our wines range from dry wines with no residual sugar, carefully crafted to drink more like a classic grape wine, to sweet wines at about 11 percent residual sugar. We believe that the wine should taste like the fruit it is crafted from, but in general fruit needs some degree of sweetness to make the flavors blossom and come to life, so the majority of our wines are classified as off-dry to semi-sweet (1 to 7 percent residual sugar).
